We invite you to consider becoming a member of Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church.  Our church is really about discipleship – about being a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Here at Forrest Burdette, we work to help all our members and prospective members become followers of Christ and effective disciples.

As we move into 2009 I challenge our membership and potential members to look very closely at one very important question of our membership vows. If you’re not yet a member you will be ask this question: “Will you be loyal to The United Methodist Church, and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?" 

If you are not yet a member, please feel free to join with others as I offer a three hour orientation to membership here at Forrest Burdette on Saturday, January 17^th from 9:00am till noon. The goal of this orientation (called First Step) will be three-fold: to explore the membership vows more deeply; to offer practical counsel in the how to’s of living a Christian life; and presenting opportunities within and the unique characteristics of our church. We ask all persons to attend this session even if transferring from another United Methodist Church or denomination.

Also, be in prayer for our 2009 Confirmation class, students and mentors. We will begin meeting in January to lead our students into a deeper understanding and commitment to Jesus Christ as a  life-style of faith.
